Transformers for NICA collider

KPM, LLC specialists have developed and manufactured the TRSZP-400/0.4/0.058 transformers for powering the main ring of the Accelerator Cascade for the NICA collider (Nuclotron based Ion Collider fAcility).

NICA is a new accelerator complex designed at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russia) to study properties of dense baryonic matter. Upon launching the NICA collider, JINR scientists will replicate a special state of matter under laboratory conditions, to which our Universe was subjected for the first moments after the Big Bang – quark-gluon plasma (QGP).

The construction of the accelerator complex was started in 2013; commissioning is scheduled for the second half of 2020.
